Broadcast by the BBC in 2012, showcasing some superb cars via period and modern footage, this is a brilliant programme. Grab a cuppa, sit back and enjoy. Well done to all those involved in this episode.
Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May take to the track in their classic British sports cars as they go head-to-head in a race. But can any of them post a faster lap time than the Stig in a very unsporty and rather French Peugeot 205? Fantastic high definition clip from the award-winning motoring show.
Yesterday, Ian was thrilled to welcome the Bentley and Rolls-Royce Central North Island Group to the museum on a pleasant Spring day. Most people worldwide think of these two premium British marques as the epitome of a vintage racing pedigree allied to peerless style, luxury and comfort - the embodiment of all that is finest in motoring.
The group had a great time browsing around the collection - Fiona and her 'boss' Bentley the bear seemed particularly happy! We were hoping to organise a photo shoot at the museum, but unfortunately there were numerous motoring-related events happening around Hawkes Bay at the same time, and despite best efforts, in the end we just couldn't manage it.
However, the redoubtable Ana Brock-Jest at Hooters Vintage & Classic Vehicle Hire in Napier came to the rescue, kindly allowing us to publish her photos of the group and their cars during their stop-off at the Hooters Showroom shortly before they cruised out to see us. Thanks, Ana - much appreciated!
First shown in 1999 as part of Channel 4's Classic British Cars, this clip is taken from the first episode which was entitled "Wild Rovers" and is narrated by John Peel.
A high quality colour film of the (then) latest models from Hillman, Ford, Austin, Triumph and Jensen among others. Includes the 'new' Ford Cortina MK1.
